CheapOStay has 10 four-star hotels listed for less than $99 a night for stays on select dates in February. Sample rates include the South Point Hotel Casino in Las Vegas for $49, the Whitehall Hotel in Chicago for $77, the Ravel Hotel in New York for $83 and the Sheraton Myrtle Beach in South Carolina for $88.

To that end, you the Humphreys Half Moon Inn, located in San Diego, is available from $64; the Falls Plaza Hotel in Toronto from $68; and even Treasure Island Hotel in Las Vegas starts from $52 for stays December 14-17.

Cheapo Stay: www.cheapostay.com. Enter the city where you plan to go, or ask Cheapo to give you a list of popular cities with its best hotel deals. We found a room at the three-star Hotel Praga in Madrid in November for a non-refundable $66/night. The site has some quirks; the number of stars on the hotel we were booking changed from four to three as we went through the process.

A few budget airfare Web sites have recently expanded their services to cover hotels.
CheapOair.com, a booking site that compares the most affordable flights, started CheapOstay.com in February. The new Web site offers both domestic and international hotel deals in over 75 countries, with tabbed sections that include Top 25 Hotel Deals, Last-minute Hotel Deals and Four-Star Hotels Under $99. The Web site is also running an offer through May 30 of $15 off all listed hotels by using the code Hotel15.
